Staying Hopeful

Hope is the cornerstone of pursuing any dream, it's not about ignoring the challenges but believing that a fulfilling life is still within reach. When I was diagnosed at 18, I faced many setbacks but I never lost hope. This innate belief kept me going even when life threw me curveballs. Hope is essential. It keeps you moving, even if slowly, and prevents you from getting stuck for too long.


Believing in Yourself

Belief in oneself is equally crucial. You must believe that you can achieve your goals, no matter how impossible they may seem, this belief must come from within. While external encouragement is helpful, it’s your internal conviction that will drive you forward. Remember, no one else can determine what’s possible for you.


Defining Your Priorities

Your priorities will guide your career and life choices, at 18, my priority was to work in television. Later, as my health became a concern, my priority shifted to slowing down and taking care of myself. Your priorities will evolve as you grow and experience life, it's important to reassess them regularly to ensure they align with your current values and goals.


Embracing Change

Change is inevitable, and it’s important to be open to it. Life experiences will transform you and your priorities, embrace these changes and let them guide your path. Each experience, good or bad, is an opportunity to learn and grow.


Taking Action

Once you have hope, belief, and clear priorities, the next step is action. Pursue your dreams with determination, and understand that setbacks are part of the journey, not the end of it. Each setback is a lesson that brings you closer to your success.


Surround Yourself with Positivity

The people you surround yourself with influence your mindset, surround yourself with those who believe in you and your dreams. Positive influences will uplift you, while negative ones can hold you back.


Pursuing your dream life with a chronic illness is challenging but entirely possible. Stay hopeful, believe in yourself, define and reassess your priorities, embrace change, take action, and surround yourself with positivity. Remember, your life is your own, and only you can decide what is possible. Keep pushing forward, and you’ll find that setbacks can indeed lead to success.
