MY STORY
MY EXPERIENCE
I’m Alex and I’m the founder of The Chronic Illness Coach; a health and wellness business on a mission to engage, educate and empower. My journey began in 2017 when I was diagnosed with stage 4 Endometriosis. At 19 years old I faced the possibility of needing care, leaving university and giving up my dream career. I decided that this wasn’t good enough; I wanted more and I was still excited about the life ahead of me. I believed I could create something incredible and I was determined to do so. I went on a journey of re-educating myself about the mind body connection, a holistic approach to health and the body’s ability to self heal. After transforming my life; everything from improving my nutrition to leaving the city and returning to the countryside I have discovered a new lease of life and want to inspire others to do the same. In modern day society I believe that the only way forward is for all of us to create healthy and happy lifestyles. In order to do this we need to look at the fundamentals: our attitude towards health, the role of alternative therapies and how we reconnect with nature. Knowledge is power! By educating individuals we can empower them to take control of their health, take preventative action and pave a better way for future generations. Businesses need to create working environments that are conducive to prioritising health which will result in a more resilient, productive and sustainable workforce. By taking a holistic approach to health you can learn strategies to manage stress, understand nutrition and prioritise physical wellbeing. I truly believe that chronic illnesses can be put into remission as the human body has everything it needs to heal and repair. By working on our mind and body we can bring these two powerhouses together to work as one and create a life and future we dream of.
