MY STORY

MY EXPERIENCE

I’m Alex and I’m the founder of The Chronic Illness Coach; a health and wellness business on a mission to engage, educate and empower. My journey began in 2017 when I was diagnosed with stage 4 Endometriosis. At 19 years old I faced the possibility of needing care, leaving university and giving up my dream career. I decided that this wasn’t good enough; I wanted more and I was still excited about the life ahead of me. I believed I could create something incredible and I was determined to do so. I went on a journey of re-educating myself about the mind body connection, a holistic approach to health and the body’s ability to self heal. After transforming my life; everything from improving my nutrition to leaving the city and returning to the countryside I have discovered a new lease of life and want to inspire others to do the same. In modern day society I believe that the only way forward is for all of us to create healthy and happy lifestyles. In order to do this we need to look at the fundamentals: our attitude towards health, the role of alternative therapies and how we reconnect with nature. Knowledge is power! By educating individuals we can empower them to take control of their health, take preventative action and pave a better way for future generations.  Businesses need to create working environments that are conducive to prioritising health which will result in a more resilient, productive and sustainable workforce. By taking a holistic approach to health you can learn strategies to manage stress, understand nutrition and prioritise physical wellbeing. I truly believe that chronic illnesses can be put into remission as the human body has everything it needs to heal and repair. By working on our mind and body we can bring these two powerhouses together to work as one and create a life and future we dream of.

Five core values that are very important to me and form the foundations to how I work with every client...

03 ALWAYS BE CURIOUS AND EAGER TO LEARN

The foundation of the company is formed by five core values, which are at the heart of how I work with every client.

04 BE BRAVE AND TAKE A RISK

05 PERFECTION DOESN'T EXIST, YOUR BEST IS ENOUGH

01 STAY HOPEFUL AND BELIEVE

02  LIVING WITH A CHRONIC    ILLNESS

04 SURGERY PREPARATION

05 POST SURGERY RECOVERY

02 HAVE AN OPEN MIND AND AN OPEN HEART

3 pillar approach number 1

1. ENGAGE

Engagement is a cornerstone to my approach and the first step in building and maintaining a relationship with the audience. Through thoughtful interaction, personal storytelling and practical tasks I enable the audience to relate to the topics, open their hearts and minds and increase self awareness. By connecting with me and each other the audience will find themselves part of something bigger by joining The Chronic Illness Coach community.

3 pillar approach number 2

2. EDUCATE

Education is the next step in the process: expanding knowledge, furthering understanding and learning strategies and tools. By making learning compelling and accessible I create open mindedness, creative thinking and alternative solutions. Developing expertise about your own health and wellbeing should be informative, challenging and full of discussion and debate taking you on a journey of discovery.

3 pillar approach number 3
3. EMPOWER

Empowering my audience provides them with the platform from which they can make sustainable change. I aim to facilitate a growth mindset, inspire courage to take risks and instil confidence that they will be nurtured and supported on their journey. They will leave feeling inspired and motivated equipped with a new way of thinking, a belief in themselves and a positive mindset.

THE 3 E's

The 3 E’s is the foundation of The Chronic Illness Coach approach. In order to make sustainable change you need to engage with the process, further your knowledge and skills and then embark on a new chapter feeling empowered.
